British singer and actor Darius Campbell Danesh, who rose to fame on ITV’s talent scouting shows “Popstars” and “Pop Idol” nearly two decades ago, has died at the age of 41, his family announced on Tuesday.
Danesh rose to fame in 2002 thanks to his participation in UK television talent contests such as ITV Popstars and Pop Idol, the latter program in which he was the third finalist.
Danesh’s family issued a statement on the matter. “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Darius Campbell Danesh. Darius was found in his bed,” the statement reads.
