Singer Q Lazzarus, known for the hit song “Goodbye Horses” and especially for her use in a striking scene from The Silence of the Lambs (1991), has died at the age of 61. The news was confirmed by friend Eva Aridjis to Rolling Stone.
Q Lazzarus’ career was brief but shrouded in enormous mystery. In the late ’80s, Luckey was working as a taxi driver in New York when he picked up director Jonathan Demme in his car. Luckey put the demo of ‘Candle Goes Away’ on it and the director liked it so much that he included the song in his 1986 film ‘Something Wild’.
According to an obituary published by Asbury Park Press, Diane Lachai died of a “brief illness” on July 19, 2022. The funeral took place on Aug. 2 on Neptune, New Jersey, where the former female singer was born. Diane’s friend Eva Aridjis confirmed her pass to the Rolling Stones (via Spin Magazine).
